In 2008 I discovered a gadget that I thought rocked.
It was in a Men’s magazine – a "boys toys" publication and for the life of me I couldn’t find it elsewhere.
I showed some of my female friends and they loved it too.
Hmm.
I’m not inclined to scream "Female superiority" from the rooftops but I do get a little peeved when it’s not a fair playing field.
Therein TakTik Bitch was formed – and has since gone through numerous transformations, getting ever smarter, more comprehensive and gathering quite a following in the process.
Right from the offset, one of my primary guidelines is that anything we write about on the main site is directly trialled by one of the team. We are not here to pop up nicely worded Press Releases and high budget photographs. Uh-uh, there’s enough other sites out there that you can read that stuff. This is a hands-on "is this worth my money let alone my time" port of call for women who like gadgets.
Furthermore you will not find the site overloaded with adverts every 6 lines! Argh! In fact, aside from the Google adverts the only space we give up is for products we’re happy to endorse directly.
You’ll see each review is also rated 0 -10. Our guidelines are simple; We look at things like: -
- Ease of setup
- Ease of use
- Applicability
- Longevity
- Value for money etc
A gadget can rock but if it costs the earth and isn’t going to last, we’ll let you know!
Furthermore we won’t fry your brain with loads of technical specifications – but we will add a link for where you can find them ;-) The team of reviewers themselves are all volunteers, all women and from all walks of life. They have my unreserved thanks because whilst they’re friends they’re also an amazing bunch who chose to put their money where their mouths were and get actively involved, perfectly matching the ethos of the site itself.
