Many months ago I was strolling down a rather nondescript street in London en route a coffee shop. I strolled passed a newsagents, a couple of restaurants, weaved my way around a bus stop - all the usual obstacles of a London walk. Glancing to my left, endless rose petals scattered the pavement in front of a shop with darkened windows. I stopped and looked through the glass before me and was engulfed in the most beautiful array of roses I have ever seen.
Over the next few weeks I walked by the shop many times until eventually I decided to pop in (I was a little reticent as it all looked terribly expensive!)
Walking into the cool fresh, dark wood space, endless vases of the most luxurious roses teased my senses. These flowers had to be seen to be believed for 'beautiful' and 'luxurious' don't quite capture them - and I wasn't until that moment, a great fan of roses. Ethically sourced in Ecuador they also ticked the box not just on quality but my entire drive to support ethical living and practices.
I was feeling flush that day and nervously chose a rose - I didn't dare ask the price. This blissfully was the next delight for the roses were so inexpensive by comparison to their quality that I beamed! The staff were friendly and patient, full of advice and good humour.
www.only-roses.com is one of those amazing little gems that you find and want to tell the World about. Privately owned and having just launched a simple but effective website (check out their extraordinary range of roses and rose giving suggestions) whilst the site photographs don't do the roses justice, this is one website and service I am delighted to recommend.
I wish them every success for the future!
