June 08

It was doing its usual June thing, the weather. Thundering down
cats and dogs. I arrived at the restaurant typically ahead of schedule.
The Maitre De stood in the doorway looking miserable beneath his
welcoming smile. There had been a fire in the kitchen and the restaurant
was therein immediately canceling all bookings.
I thought about my nine female guests, all done up to the nines,
making their way here in this atrocious weather - and cringed.
How the hell was I to avert disaster? I raced down the street, piled
into another restaurant and asked them if they could organise a
table for ten, now. The smile said it all but still how was I to
get through to everyone instantly?
ZygoHubs was the answer. I pulled out my mobile phone and sent one
text advising of the problem and the evenings' relocation.
My guests, each and every one of them arrived, safe, sound and relaxed.
A little wet perhaps but as good as ZygoHubs is, averting the British
Summer is slightly beyond most gadgets. Currently.
The website states:-
Zygology is the science of joining things together. Our boffins
have used it to join people together using mobile phones.
One touch of a button means one group message.
One number. One group. One message. Zygo is fantastic for connecting
groups of people on the move. Forget trying to send out individual
texts again and again.
Now everyone in your group can message each other, all in one go.
So next time you're planning a sports event, a stag night, a business
meeting, or a big trip, plan it with Zygo.
Everyone in your group just adds one single Zygo number to their
mobile contacts. We call it a hub - a ZygoHub.
Instantly your group can share messages, news, plans, schemes and
jokes with each other, wherever you go.
It is an extraordinarily handy little 'gadget'. Setting up the ZygoHub was as simple as one, two , three and within minutes my own little 'hub' was formed and busily texting away to each other. I only wish I was brave enough to go public with the content of some of the texts! Flic kept us in stitches one morning with one or two un-printables, as she is apt to do!
We did find that after the initial flurry of activity, we slowed
down our use because being a Gadget Team we've all very internet
focused and several of the group have a free text facility which
ZygoHubs is not (Prices are published on the website and average
in the region of 5p per text - after your FREE trial which
I'd recommend making best use of).
For peace of mind there is no contract involved and any member of
the team can top up credits. The website is simple, clear and concise
which was a blessed relief too. You might enjoy reading through
some of ZygoHubs case studies - great for ideas about how
best to use this gadget to its fullest.
Overall, ZygoHub delivers what it says and without a doubt has its place in this World. If you don't have a laptop permanently attached to your paws and you've a good circle of friends, you might want to take a closer look...
