Neutrogena Wave
Review by Alex

score: 6 out of 10

Product: Neutragena Wave

My daily 'beauty' routine is noticeable by its absence. I'm the one that gets up, cleans teeth, throws self in bath, uses the same product to wash both hair and body, lunges back out of bath, knocks hair back into place with my fingers, sprays on deodorant, pulls on clothes and that's it. I'm done.

However I do have a 'quirk'. I like to exfoliate. I feel like I've just confessed to some deep inner secret but it's true. I exfoliate daily and herein I've had a concern or two. I have a pair of exfoliating gloves and they're quite harsh. Great for legs, arms, belly, back etc but very scratchy on my chops. However Neutrogena seem to have come blissfully to the rescue and the trial so far has been a delight!

Launching nationwide in January* in the UK the Neutrogena Wave is selling at one every 15 seconds off the shelves in the USA and I rather understand why. Ha, PI has just rocked up and tried it and she's bouncing around with "Can you get me one? Please!"

Basically the Neutrogena Wave is a new power cleanser, with the "clinically proven" statement of improving face cleaning with a gentle vibrating motion that stimulates the skins surface, encouraging the pores to open.

Pi's just come back in "I like it. I like it a lot. You need to get me one." She'll be hanging off my trouser legs in a minute.

Neutragena Wave - Soapy

Needless to say we've both tried it, after the easiest set-up ever. Pop in batteries, stick on cleansing pad, run under water (device is waterproof) and turn it on. Although surprisingly noisy (PI "It's like a vibrator" Dual purpose on holiday?) it does seem to do the job. Run it over your cheeks, over your nose, forehead, mindful not to fuss around the delicate eye area and voila! My cheeks are definitely smoother and softer after just one try – and just as the marketing promises.

However a quick look at the ingredient list makes me think if you've sensitive skin you might want to be like PI and borrow someones first before you splash out for it (scuse the pun). Oh, and buy it on your next trip to the States – the price there is $13.99 to our £12.99. Cheeky!

Whilst most cleansing and beauty products escape me completely this one has delighted me, dammit. I'd have liked to have been different to lord knows how many Americans. Maybe next gadget, huh ;-)

The starter pack which is the Wave and 14 cleansing pads is £12.99 and a months refill is £4.99
PI has just figured she need only buy refills and use my device. Heh.

Available nationwide in Supermarkets and Chemists, Jan 2009.
