*New* Neutrogena Wave
Review by PI
Dec 09
score: 9 out of 10

Product: New Neutragena Wave

We’ve had the Neutrogena Wave on TTTech before and loved it. Due to the one-use only cleansing pads, it was hygienic enough that we were also able to test it on a few of our friends. That original Wave is still going strong and the batteries lasted a long while before needing to be replaced. When the Neutrogena people approached us again with the NEW and IMPROVED Neutrogena Wave, we jumped at the chance to re-trial it, to see if it really was new and improved or just a rebranding of the old.

Product: New Neutragena Wave Blackhead Eliminating PadsThe new Wave looks and feel just like the old Wave, the difference turned out to be in the pads. Our last ones were the Deep Clean Foaming pads, whereas these new ones are the Blackhead Eliminating pads. Alex was all set to review these when I pointed out that actually, she doesn’t have any blackheads, so therefore this Wave was mine.
I hate blackheads, they are the bane of my life. I wear makeup every day, but my cleaning routine is rather haphazard. Sometimes I’ll be good and other times I’ll get lazy and go to bed without bothering to clean it off. So the Wave is now part of my morning routine.

The Wave is like a mini-massager for your face. The vibrations not only massage your skin, they also help to open up your pores. The pads themselves foam up a lot less than the original pads and have a mild exfoliating effect to buff away dead skin. Afterwards my skin did indeed feel a lot softer, and as the days passed seem to clear up as well. The best thing about these pads (for me anyway), is they are strong enough to remove makeup.
Other things you should know about the Wave is that they require 1AA battery to work, are waterproof, so can be used in the bath or shower and have a textured handle so are easy for wet hands to grip. If you’re unsure about how to use the Wave, the Neutrogena website has easy to follow instructions along with a strangely addictive follow-the-leader game.... (click on Play Your Wave).

My only criticism of this product is that it’s very drying on the skin. Alex used it once without following with moisturiser, only to end up with dry skin around her eyes and hairline. I always have to use moisturiser afterwards else my skin ends up feeling ‘tight’. If you don’t use moisturiser, then now is the time to start if you intend to use the Neutrogena Wave.

All in all, I like it.

The starter pack which is the Wave and 14 cleansing pads is £12.99 and the Blackhead Eliminating Pads are £5.99 a pack of 30
