Ed’s Note: having also used this Logitech Mouse across the Easter Weekend, I feel compelled to confirm the sense of precision and quality of this device. I usually sit down at a borrowed computer and think nothing of the peripherals – the Logitech Anywhere however was such that I found myself commenting on it with some envy!
To be honest I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with mice. If they’re not playing up on me, I’m losing them (seriously). It would be a bit hard to lose my latest mouse however, the Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX. The thing is heavier than my Blackberry, and feels solid to boot. I think I have found a new love (again)!
If my last mouse was a racing car, the Anywhere truly is an Lotus. It hugs the mouse mat so tightly it’s impossible to overturn or lose precision. If you do happen to come off the mat, the Anywhere will work just as well regardless of what surface it ends up on, even glass!
To set up is simple:- 2 AA batteries go into the base before plugging in the very small receiver. At that point the
Assistant Dialog box may open up on your screen. I closed that window without even looking, which was silly as it then took
me a couple of days to notice something interesting – it had connected to my Logitech Keyboard as well!
Along with its ability to work on all surfaces, the Anywhere is also made to travel. The receiver can be stored in the mouse when not in use, and if you’re low on batteries the Anywhere will still run on one battery.
The Anywhere is very comfortable for my hand, which is good as I’m one of those people who gets mouse fatigue. If
you’re right-handed the Anywhere is particularly good as it has extra controls near your thumb. Of course all the
controls can be personalised using the Assistant Dialog box.
Some other things you need to know about the Anywhere mouse:-
- There is a button on top of the mouse to help you search your open windows.
- The Scroll can be tilted right or left to scroll sideways.
- You can speed up your scrolling speed to Hyperfast.
- To know when to change batteries just check the battery icon on the Dialog box.
So there you have it, my new obsession. I’ve said it before that I really like Logitech and awesome products like the Anywhere Mouse Mx is part of the reason why.
