Product: Jabra BT530

Whilst paying Alex a brief social call between racing across London from one meeting to another she asked if I would be interested in reviewing a new Bluetooth headset. My heart sank as the mounds of work I had to get through flashed before my eyes and as I opened my mouth to deliver my tales of woe I spied the box she had in her hand. 'Oooooh. Nice.' was my first thought, quickly followed by 'Well, I'm sure I could find the time somewhere..' However, Alex had spotted my initial hesitation and was more than happy to hold onto it herself and the next thing I knew I was determined to get my hands on that lovely matte black and yellow box with the sparkly black and silver headset I could see enticingly glinting inside. So, here I am..

Inside the tasteful outer packaging there are two smaller boxes, containing the headset, the charger and accessories and a small and succinct instruction booklet. Two hours charging time later I headed out kite flying with the Jabra attached to my ear (I had to use the hook attachment to hold it in place and unfortunately it still didn't feel entirely secure) ready to test the noise blackout feature to the extreme in high winds on the Heath.

I connected the Jabra to my phone with ease en route and received a call immediately upon arrival (I was late) and was very very impressed with the sound quality, it really did blackout all the wind and the call was absolutely crystal clear.

However, a couple of times throughout the afternoon the answer button didn't seem to function properly, I had to keep on pressing it to get a response and at one point had to take the headset off to examine it, all the while getting strange looks from people wondering why I wasn't answering the ringing phone in my hand.

Since then the headset has instantly reconnected to my phone every time I have switched it on and the batteries have as yet not worn out. It also plays music through the earpiece which is great if you#re happy to hear it through one ear.

So, would I buy it? If I needed hands free talking on a regular basis then yes mainly for it's style, the remarkable noise blackout and it's ease of use.
