The simplehuman soap pump is ridiculously easy to use. The box was dropped onto my desk with the words 'Have fun'. Have fun with a soap dispenser? Well yes, cause this one has pretty lights.

The simplehuman is a soap pump with a difference. The difference being that you don't actually have to 'pump' anything. In fact you don't have to touch it at all, or worry about anyone else's filthy digits being on the pump before you. Instead you merely hold your fingers under the dispenser and it drops out just the right amount of soap. If you're a real stickler for cleanliness, you can set up a timer so that the lights will flash for 20 seconds while you wash your hands (20 seconds being the optimum amount of time to ensure germ-free hands apparently). Turns out 20 seconds is a long time, but it's almost impossible to walk away while those lights are guilting you into scrubbing.

Setting up the simplehuman takes about 5 minutes. First you unscrew the base to put in four AA batteries, then you twist off the lid of the soap chamber and finally, you pour in the soap. Easy. The hardest thing is setting up the timer, which actually isn't hard at all once you read the instructions properly..

Right now I have blue soap in my dispenser so to match the blue lights on the pump. Next I think I might mix and match with red soap, or maybe green. Do I like the simplehuman? Actually I love it, much more than I ever liked soap.
