The Kenwood Kmix HB790 series ( Black) is classified by Kenwood as a hand blender, but it's far more than that.
The beautiful big black box, contains :
- a powerful 700w, 5 speed power handle
- a hand blender
- a whisk
- a frother
- a food processor attachment, ( 1L bowl, blades, disc, pusher)
- a storage unit
- a little pouch with instructions and 8 recipes
The Kenwood Kmix HB790 series not only is stylish, powerful, resistant, easy to use and very quick, it was
designed to use space very efficiently.
The power handle, is a very clever idea, as can be used with the various attachments or slots in the food
processor unit.
A clever storage unit, allows to keep all the pieces, tidy and looking stylish on your work top.
The shredder and the slicer are on the same reversible disc.
Very easy to assemble, attach the power handle to the hand blender, and it's ready for soups, baby food,
milkshakes and for saucepan blending.
Replace the hand blender with a whisk and it's ready for your egg whites and cream.
Once again click in and out ( by pressing 2 convenient release buttons) and here it comes the frother, for your
perfect cappuccino.
What's more.. the compact storage unit, allows you to place the various attachments in their rubber slot, without
leaving them hanging around or at the bottom of a drawer.
If that's not enough, Kenwood really combined style, design and harmony in this blender. The power handle slots in
the food processor attachment, complete with blades for chopping and processing, a reversible disc for grating,
shredding and slicing, a generous 1 L bowl, a anti- slip rubber base for the bowl, and a large and thin feed tube,
for big or small items.
The 5 speed control allows you to adapt the power to perfectly slice soft and hard food. Turn it to 3 and you
slice tomatoes, eggs and cucumber, power it up to 5 and your potatoes and carrot will be the envy of all
your friends.
Wonder how I lived without one before.
If you are of addictive personality like mine, you will probably spend the first couple of days, shredding,
chopping and whizzing everything you find around you. Despite the cumbersome packaging is a compact wonder. At 700w is extremely powerful, the blades are fantastic, turn it one way and the potato dauphine will become your
speciality, turn it the other and carrot juilienne are your next favourite salad.. add a couple of sliced fennels
and your success is guaranteed.
My mum can finally stop travelling with coarse breadcrumbs in her luggage.. I can make my own now..
If you are the tidy type, they thought of that too.. it comes with holders on the side to pack it neatly on your
worktop. It comes complete with rubber base for steady anti slip chopping. If you are of the superlazy type.. I'm afraid.. it's better not to put in in the dishwasher, but considering it takes
about 1 minute to wash every single piece.. that shouldn't put you off.
It won't make your bread dough, so if baking was your next career, I'm afraid this is not for you.
As for the hand blender as it's cleverly designed to slip in and power the chopper, when used on it's own, it's a bit heavy to hold and the attachment for the soup I would have preferred plastic to avoid scratching the bottom of the pan, the results are however amazing.
Available from Kenwood and Amazon and a variety of other online and retail outlets, with an RRP of £89.99.
