Product: The Frog BracKit

Looking outside your window, you might not believe summer is on its way (as I write this, BBC 24 in my hotel says “With more stormy weather on the way ... severe weather warning... ) Ok, so maybe I am having difficulty believing that summer is on the way but eggs is eggs, it should be soonish...

Summer for me means (BBQs) garden time. It’s time, as the daylight starts to rise with me, to get into the garden, sort out the weeds, cut back the grass and stand back and wonder what the hell to do to make it a paradise.

A possible part of the solution came to us via a chance encounter at a social event a couple of months ago. PI bumped into Debbie Evershed, award winning designer of the innovative Frog Brackit. We were so fascinated by this invention that nabbing CBs car (TakTik Bitch Web Manager) we drove out to meet Debbie and see this invention for ourselves.

Product: The Frog BracKit - Display As we stood on a chilly afternoon in a high residential area, enjoying a warming cup of tea, Debbie talked us through her design. About fifteen feet away from us, in her own garden was the frog brackit (as pictured) In an area not known for its birdlife, we watched bird after bird fly down and tease and dance about the feed containers that Debbie had attached. I was reminded of the inventor of the paperclip. Such a simple yet staggering effective design. So brilliant is this design that The London Design Festival 2008 also recognised it.

Loathe to disturb the birds but wanting to have a closer look, I strolled down the garden. With a Frog designed Bracket (Brackit) and allowing for up to eight bars to be added (six supplied as standard) the uses for this piece of kit are pretty much only limited by your imagination. Bird feeders, bird baths, solar lights, flower baskets, garden forks, spades, mops, hoses, lawn mowers, bicycles (!) can all be hung from it.

The Frog Brackit is surprisingly lightweight, portable and yet strong enough to tidy up and display all of the above.

As far as garden gadgets go, this is not only beautiful in its application but quite unique. I stepped away and turned to watch the birds return to their feeding.

Whilst we all waited for the summer to arrive I wished I had a Frog Brackit at home, so delightful was it to watch these little chaps enjoy a healthy winter.
