I installed Web Easy Professional 8 on my Acer laptop, running Windows Vista Home Premium v6.0.6001 with no problems at all. I just popped the installation CD in and after a few confirmation clicks the software was loaded and ready to go.

This website building software has a PowerPoint-like interface, and no programming or HTML knowledge is needed. Text is easily edited and formatted in the same way one would in a slide show document.

There is a selection of over 500 templates to choose from, ranging from business (including an eBay wizard) to hobbies and interests. Once a template is chosen, over 50 different styles can be applied to your new creation. The templates also include the option to build iphone & mobile phone pages.

There are many photo album templates available which simply requires a drag and drop to insert photos in to the designated areas. Web Easy professional handles the sizing of the photographs automatically, which I thought to be very handy. A lot of time can be wasted sizing and resizing things on a website!

Web Easy Professional does not seem to want allow editing of the HTML code that it generates, which is OK if that is not your cup of tea. This software is definitely not aimed at advanced website creators, but is a very simple and easy to tool to create basic websites without any hassle.

I created a website using the Environmental template in the Organisations and Clubs category. Replacing the photos in the template with my own was a very simple task (a mere drag and drop as mentioned above).

The template I used had a mailing list function automatically built in on the ‘contact us’ page. The template has a ready to use form for customers to fill in their name and email address and send it across.

For those who do have a bit of programming knowledge there is a Custom Script Assistant which allows the creation of coded events.

I made use of the included 3 months of free web hosting to publish my site. Once again no technical knowledge was needed to get the website published. All that is required is to register your details on the Webeasy site, and follow the steps in the publish assistant.
