Supertooth Buddy

Product: Supertooth Buddy

The perfect Bluetooth car speaker for anyone who drives and owns more than one mobile device!

Overall I’d say I like this little device. The packaging makes it sound unique and spectacular (don’t you love marketing), however it isn’t that different from the many other portable car Bluetooth devices. It is however one of the smaller ones I have seen and it sits easily and discreetly on your visor and turns on by pressing one button. Simple.

I made some calls on my way from London to Folkestone for my Mum’s birthday, phoning my Dad to ask him to put the kettle on for when we arrived! The quality was good, and the volume (which is adjustable) was loud and clear.

The best thing about this device, is the dual pairing. Perfect if you have two devices (i.e. work and personal phones). You can pair them both at the same time, and take a call on one device, then switch to the other. This function is ideal for a busy person who takes lots of calls on the move.

This Bluetooth headset is really good for a couple of particular reasons:

  • Great talk-time battery life (20 hours) and a massive 1000h standby – most other Bluetooth car kits I’ve seen provide 10-15 hours of talktime
  • Small and easy to use

The only thing I didn’t like so much was the charging options that came in the box. The cable isn’t long enough to reach from your visor to the cigarette lighter, and would cause some blocking to your vision. It does have a USB connector, however we all know that this isn’t the quickest way to charge anything, so I think I’d have rather had a standard plug than a USB/in car charger. The good news is, it has the same connector as some Blackberries (the old Bold) so if you have one of those chargers, you could charge it at home.

It is available for around £49.99 so it is not one of the cheapest on the market, but it certainly is useful.

Available online at Amazon and from Carphone Warehouse Stores Nationwide from 1st April onwards.
