My first impression of the Conceptronic Portable USB Speakers was not good. It took me a good ten minutes to get them out of their plastic! Alex tells me that its anti-theft packaging but I’m sure thieves would have had an easier time than me. When I finally got them out, my opinion improved dramatically. These tiny speakers rock!
I don’t think I referred to the instructions once while setting them up (not that it’s a failing if you do). The connectors are cleverly wrapped at the base of each speaker. I plugged them in, turned on my music and then turned it up. Alex’s response? “Oi! Turn it down!” Once she realised I was testing the new USB Speakers and not just being annoying, her face changed to delight. The sound is incredible for such a small device! Clear, (not too loud) and not tinny at all. The best thing? They look hot next to my computer. Currently I ‘m listening to Katie Perry but I have an entire music collection to go through.
Some more things you need to know:-
They’re compatible with Windows, Linux, Vista and Mac. They’re powered by a USB which plugs into your
computer or laptop. Once stacked they’re no heavier than an empty bottle of wine and due to their tube
shape are just as easy to hold. They have their own volume control and a mute button to give you even more control
over the sound. They easily stack together and lock, making them secure to travel with. To my knowledge they come in
two colours, black and white.
Within the price range and genre of small portable speakers, they are without question superior to anything we have reviewed across the last twelve months. They are far better than some speakers we have come across which are 4X time the price! I only wish we could have included these on our Seasonal Page.
