When it comes to my gadgets I am extremely paranoid about all the potential damage that could come to them, who wouldn't
be? You spend all that money buying the gadget in the first place, so why not spend a little bit more to make sure that it
doesn't get scratched or damaged. This means I have my fair share of protective films, cases, sleeves, etc. for all my
gadgets!
When TTB asked me to review a new laptop sleeve I was more than willing to give it a go. The sleeve is made by Orkio
and this particular design is called 'Network' which comes in blue. Personally I am not fond of the pattern on the front
being the type of person that would just buy a plain black one, but it's quite subdued.
On first look, the sleeve looks like any other neoprene sleeve but on closer inspection you notice that there are a few things that make it stand out. It has 2 elastic straps in the top corners on the inside of the sleeve, and 4 rubber pads on the other side which allows you to use your laptop while it's still in the sleeve - perfect when you're on the move.
Having another sleeve that I currently use to compare this one with, I noticed that the material used inside the sleeve
wasn't as soft and the whole item didn't seem as cushioned as I would expect which would make me nervous of protecting the
laptop from anything more than a light scuff.
Also there wasn't much material between the edge of the metal zip and the edge of my aluminium MacBook Pro which would make
me worry about scratching the aluminium.
You might think, 'it's only a sleeve!' but it's this sleeve that's going to protect your beloved laptop if you
accidentally bash it against something, so while this one has extra functionality, it make me think it needs a bit more
'padding' to do the job right.
6.5 out of 10.
