Hi!
Sitting back and looking across all the reviews we’ve done this year has actually been a real eye-opener! So many gadgets!
It’s actually been quite tough to decide what would feature on our Christmas Gadget List – but thankfully this year we started rating products 1 to 10, to give you a very quick guide as to whether it was a ‘buy it’ or ‘bin it’ idea. We’ve listed the best on this page for you. If you like the initial idea, please click on it and it will take you through to the full review. For your peace of mind, please know that we are not paid to undertake these reviews.
However, I wanted to add a little extra this year – something to perhaps alleviate the
stress of it all. Therein, we’ve two things to offer: -
Firstly, we’ve now linked to Amazon and most of these gifts, if you like them, you can
click and voila, place your order.
Secondly, I sat back for a while and considered what makes a good Christmas present?
In many ways, a good gift doesn’t differ from the guidelines we use here at TakTikTech to judge if a gadget is worthy
of a mention (let alone a place on this page!)
1. Ensuring it’s easy to set up (double checking if you need to buy batteries!),
2. Making sure it’s going to do the job that it’s sold to do! It might sound a bit basic but think about it for
a moment because it’s double-pronged. The gadget needs to do what it says but in thinking about that clearly, even
just for seven seconds, you’ll have a firmer idea of whether it’s an appropriate gift or just a bit wide of the
mark.
3. Next, check if we’ve expressed any concern about the longevity of the product – we’ll
certainly raise it if it’s worried us!
4. Lastly, consider if the person you’re giving it to is really going to make us of it / appreciate
it – or is it just going to get shoved to the back of the cupboard and gather dust. Basically, is it value for money
– not just because of what the gift is but how it will be used?
Then, take that extra 5 minutes out to wrap it – it shows a little more effort & thought than
shoving it in a bag! – and attach a personalised card that really does say you’ve thought about
the person.
There’s a bonus to all this too – you’ll feel better when it’s all done, with the priceless sense of doing a job well
Merry Christmas!
